Not only “Loison Educational”, but also “Loison Tasting Visit”.
Yesterday a company of 20 curious and sparkling American ladies embarked on a path that lead them to the discovery of Italian desserts secrets.
Starting from getting to know the raw materials, visiting the production department and getting involved in the Loison Museum atmosphere, they concluded their visit with a tasting of the Insolito Panettone:
Two macarons - Traditional French pastries revisited with Panettone, one with Lemon and the second one with Ciaculli late Mandarin.
One mini shot Panettone Liquid.
We’d love to share with you another appointment that was part of the school-business project #loisoneducational. Yesterday we welcomed a group of female students currently enrolled at the ENGIM VENETO C.F.P Patronato San Gaetano in Thiene (Vi), an institution and a non-profit organization operating nationally and internationally for young people and workers. The aim is to help their personal, professional and social promotion.
The purpose of the educational visit was to deepen the students awareness on some aspects related to the digital world of Loison and its comunication strategy, the products customization and packaging, and the web potential for a medium-sized enterprise like Loison Pasticceri.
Thursday the 4th February at the Ca 'Foscari University of Venice started on a new project that marks, one more time, the path of collaboration between universities and industry. Four dynamic professors are project leaders:
Prof. Tiziano Vescovi and Prof. Francesca Checchinato - Marketing Class
Prof. Vladi Finotto and Prof. Francesco Zirpoli - Management Class
The students have been divided into 4 groups with mixed competences of marketing and management.
The program, entirely in English, provides that in the time of five weeks, students have to solve two problems related to the four case histories brought to their attention.
Mr. Dario Loison could not miss this chance and last 4th February he presented to an audience of about 150 students - of which about 20% foreign - his history and challenges for the future.
We can only wish them good working time!
On November 29, to celebrate the approaching holiday season, winemaker Corrado Benedetti held an "InCantina" event in Sant'Anna D'Alfaedo (VR). It was a day dedicated to special tastings of the latest products by Loison, for the delight of the wine house’s customers.
The tasting event was held by Edoardo Loison inside the wine house’s remarkable cellar, where cured meats and cheeses were proudly displayed all around. The customers truly enjoyed the fragrances of the Panettone varieties that were available for tasting: Late Mandarin from Ciaculli, Apricot & Ginger, Fig and Marron Glacè. Once again, these flavors are a testament to Loison’s excellent job of continually seeking premium ingredients for the preparation of its Panettone cakes.
It turned out to be a wonderful day that brought people together and that gave Loison the opportunity to show to the public the mix of love, passion and craftsmanship that the company injects into its products.
What else could leading commentator Tiziano Crudeli taste, while working at the Padua-based studios of TV channel 7 GOLD?
What a smart choice! And a sign of great taste, too!!!
On October 23rd, we had the pleasure of welcoming a group of Russian buyers from “Buon Appetito” and “OOO Tk Land”, two major Russia-based companies specializing in import and distribution of Made in Italy products.
Accompanied by interpreter Sara Battaggia for Veneto Promozione, Ms. Irina Novitskaya and Ms. Vera Safonova met with the staff at Loison and with owner Dario himself, who led them through a stimulating experience organized specially for the guests.
After the customary visit to Loison Museum and Library, the guest buyers had the opportunity to admire the new Christmas collections and the new products for 2015. Dario prepared a tasting that included samples of Chamomile Kulic (Russian for Panettone), Kulic with Late Mandarin from Ciaculli and the latest Macarons filled with Lemon Panettone or Mandarin Panettone Creams. Lastly, the Russian guests had samples of excellent Licorice & Saffron Panettone Pops.
The visit ended with the tour of the artisanal production department, followed by a number of purchases at Loison’s shop. Courtesy of Dario, the Eastern European guests also received a shopping bag full of gifts.
All that remained to do was to take leave and to hope for a pleasant and fruitful cooperation.
Goodbye then or, as they say in Russian, Do Svidaniya!
On October 14, 2015, we had the pleasure of meeting Chef Giovanni Gaudio from Sacramento, California. Accompanied by his wife Sheri and by a team of six culinary professionals, he was on a food and wine tour of Italy to discover the country’s top-quality products.
Their itinerary included stops in the regions of Friuli Venezia-Giulia and Veneto, to visit businesses such as confection makers Loison. Along with the guests from the United States were Mr. Tommaso Peruzzi and his wife Ela Raczycka, who are in charge of accommodation at Villa Sogara and majority shareholders of Poland-based Viniversum Sp.zo.o,
After visiting Loison Museum and Library, the guests had the opportunity to taste samples of the 2015 confections, such as the Chamomile Panettone, the Macarons with Mandarin Panettone Cream and with Lemon Panettone Cream, in addition to Licorice & Saffron Panettone Pops.
The visit continued with Dario Loison’s presentation of his company and a guided tour of the workshop, where the visitors got to see the overall production process of Loison artisanal confections.
The guests from overseas, who were visibly impressed by and delighted with the products’ taste and the packaging designed by Sonia Pilla, received a gift from Dario and then moved on to the shop, where they purchased more items before continuing on with their journey.
Good bye and see you soon!
September 13th, 2015, was the deadline to submit entries to the comic strip contest titled ‘Il Panettone in Tavola’ (Panettone is Served). After the recipes, photographs, ice cream and cake design, it was time for Panettone to take on a new untraditional form, that of Comics!
The purpose of the challenge was to convey through cartoon drawings (including balloons) the cartoonist’s personal vision of Panettone and its taste (e.g. as a symbol of civilization, the logo of a superhero, the key to a portal into a parallel world, etc.)
A total of 35 participants - 24 women and 11 men - entered their works of art. Representing 11 Italian regions, most participants hailed from Veneto, Lombardy and Lazio. There were also a few competitors from the islands of Sicily and Sardinia, as well as some from as far north as Trentino and Piedmont. The age of the participants ranged from 18 to 70 years old.
Judging the entries was a panel chaired by Claudio Villa, renowned cartoonist (Dylan Dog, Tex Willer, Captain America, etc.). Author Sofia Terzo and Alberto Baldisserotto, Art Director at Dalì Arts School, also judged the works.
Top-rated prizes will go to the winners of one of the most creative and untraditional contests that Loison has ever had the honor to organize.
You’ll soon have the opportunity to view and appreciate the Sweet Entries.
On September 9, 2015, Loison was very pleased to welcome Vincent Koole, Confectionery Buyer at Sligro Food Group and EMTÉ, a chain of full-service supermarkets owned by the Group.
The Veghel-based company is active in all the main segments of the food retail and foodservice markets in the Netherlands. Sligro Food Group has been Loison’s customer for almost 10 years and is one of the top distributors in the industry, both in terms of importance and of sales volumes abroad. The Group will soon expand to the rest of Europe and the world.
For Loison, this visit was a source of pride, since such customers rarely go visit their suppliers. Mr. Koole traveled to Italy on a gastronomic tour that included stops to confectionery companies in Cremona, Arona, Caravaggio and, of course, Costabissara, where Dolciaria Loison is based. The goal of his visit was to test first-hand the craftsmanship and quality of Loison products, as well as to strengthen business relations with suppliers.
The meeting was followed by a tour of the company and a tasting of some excellent confections offered by company owner Dario. This included his latest products for 2015.
Judging from Mr. Koole‘s enthusiasm and satisfaction, we believe that we fully met his expectations and we’ll see him again soon.
Thanks to Loison’s Ambassador Antonietta Matera of Iris Imports, customers get to taste Loison confections even at the prestigious location of Le Fontainebleau Golf Club in Montreal. The patrons were definitely pleased to gather around a delicious, eye-catching large-size Loison Panettone!
