On October 1, 2014, Cinzia Caffidi presented her book titled Mangia come parli (Eat how you talk) inside the superb setting of Cantina Zeni’s cellar in Bardolino. Among the topics covered was the importance of the value of words and how our eating habits have changed over the last decades.

Words have value and many meanings. How has today’s food vocabulary changed? Cinzia Scaffidi, author of the book titled “Mangia come parli” (Eat how you talk), discussed this subject during an event set inside the beautiful cellar of Cantina Zeni in Bardolino (Verona). Organized by Slow Food Veneto and hosted by the Garda Veronese branch and its trustee Flavio Marchesini, the book presentation was preceded by a visit to the Museo del Vino (Wine Museum). The book and the author were then introduced by Morello Pecchioli, who told of the profound changes that the world has gone through in the last fifty years.

Changes in eating habits, our relationship with food and the importance of words. These were all topics that Loison feets strongly about, as the company has been working for years with Slow Food, not only by participating in events, but also with actual principles. Loison is committed to expressing the value of its products using precise and true words, especially when it comes to valuable raw materials listed in Slow Food’s Ark of Taste. To name a few: Late Mandarin from Ciaculli, Chinotto from Savona and Pistachios from Bronte - the land of Mt. Etna. These are all excellent Italian products, sought after for their unique fragrance and flavor. Since the early 2000s, for example, Loison has been using the precious Mananara Vanilla from Madagascar. The natural ingredients are never altered during the processing system: at Loison, no additives or substances that could alter the ingredients’ properties or flavors are used.

The evening was enhanced by a dinner prepared with excellent ingredients, which were paired with fine wines from cellar Zeni, and concluded with Panettone cakes and the new Gelato di Panettone. All the guests received a small gift made by Loison.
