LoisonÂ’s confections are a cut above the rest
Top young fencers met in Vicenza for the European Fencing Championship Under 23. The prestigious and elegant fairgrounds were the venue of this sports event that was held on April 22-26. The Italian team was awarded several medals and rewarded with Loison’s wonderful confections
The best young European fencers gathered in Vicenza for the European Fencing Championship U23. The prestigious venue welcomed 29 participating nations and cheered the Italian athletes, who won medals in all three categories (foil – epee – sabre), both at the individual and at the team levels.
As an expression of the most elegant sport, the fencing specialties attracted many fans, who arrived not only from different parts of Italy, but also from the cities of the European teams that were participating in the events. Political authorities, the Mayor of Vicenza, Achille Variati, and sports celebrities also attended the sports event.
The crowd joined in the heartfelt celebration as the national flags were raised and the national anthems played. Many medals were awarded to the young deserving fencers, who also greatly appreciated the unexpected confections delivered by Loison (i.e. Cookies and Veneziana cakes). As a sweet memento from Vicenza, Loison handed out treats not only to the winners, but also to the volunteers, athletes, match officials and the organizing committee of the FIS/Coni,
In good spirits thanks to Loison’s sweet temptations, these young athletes may not be fully aware of it, but they do carry the tradition of our sport with honor and make our nation very proud. Below are the specialties and the results of the Italian teams.
